A MESSAGE

Friends and Neighbors,

A follow up after Friday’s HOA Special Meeting.

First, a sincere THANK YOU to all of you for contributing to making your voices heard. This was truly a TEAM effort, and we will not stop advocating for the community and the best interests of all owners.

Here are the facts on the HOA Special Meeting:

  • 179 attendees (in person and via proxy combined)
  • 99 votes - for removing the current HOA board (55%)
  • 80 votes - for keeping the current HOA board (45%)

Our current HOA bylaws require a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote (of attendees) to pass the meeting agenda, and we were short by just 20 votes.

Although the agenda did not pass, the message to the current Board is clear – they have work to do.

It is important we look at what we DID manage to accomplish -  99 community members rallied to support the initiative in a matter of two (2) weeks despite several handicaps including a confusing proxy form and a meeting location 30 minutes away at 9 AM, just to list two.

Although our initial goal was not successful, we have created a united presence that will not be ignored.  We are just getting started and will continue to push for

  1. Full transparency in all community financial matters to better understand monthly and annual HOA assessments
  2. Open channels of communication to the Board to ensure community voices are heard on matters affecting our homes and community
  3. Appropriate prioritization of expenditures to assure maintenance and infrastructure issues in the neighborhood are addressed to improve property values
  4. Fostering community wide events for better engagement with neighbors to improve neighborhood livability

We also aren’t done using this website to distribute information on the items above as well as a central information hub for all homeowners.

To be clear, chondracarston.com IS NOT affiliated with the Bella Casa Owners Association, it is my personal website we are using to provide information to my Bella Casa neighbors.

There is so much more to come.

Again, thank you for all your trust and support.
